Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions
- Assist in the development, implement and maintain the company SH&E Policies, Programs and Procedures.
- Ensure continual compliance with those programs.
- Develop and provide training to all sites employees on safety, health & environmental topics and procedures.
- Investigate safety, health, and environmental incidents, assess SHE risk at workplaces, and inspect workplaces.
- Assist in monitoring, measuring, reporting safety, health & environmental performance of each asset, and compile this SHE data. Develop trend analyses and implement strategies for improvement.
- Conduct audits of the facilities to ensure operations meet safety, health & environmental requirements.
- Ensure that site environmental permits are current and accurate, and all requirements are always met.
- Respond to Safety, Health and Environmental questions, issues, and problems from locations
- Prepare, check accuracy and submit safety and environmental regulatory reports as required.
Additional Responsibilities
- Understand, apply and maintain compliance with all applicable environmental and safety regulations and monitor for new and revised regulations applicable to the company WAF&CAF facilities.
- Develop, implement and maintain work instructions with all necessary SH&E requirements.
- Coordinate the exchange of Safety, Health and Environmental information and best management practices between locations.
Education:
- BSc degree in a technical field (chemicals preferred) and relevant professional certification
Experience
- 3-5 years of direct experience in safety; occupational health and environmental compliance
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
The following are the basic qualifications:
- Strong working knowledge of the regulatory requirements applicable to the facilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, both in French and in English;
- Computter literate
- Very good team-working skills; Rigor and organization.
- Ability to work in a setting that may contain adverse weather conditions and environmental conditions typical of an agricultural commodity and chemical processing plant.
- Ability to climb stairs, use ladders, work at heights, enter confined spaces, withstand extended periods of walking and standing, crawling, and bending
